Kenapa masih ada yang menganggap Gothic adalah Satanic ???

Banyak orang yang sering salah paham tentang gothic-ism. Bahkan kadang kali banyak tanggapan yang sering melenceng tentang penganut gothic-ism. Ada yang bilang bahwa penganut gothic-ism juga terkait dengan penganut satanism, kekerasan, suicidal, dan hal negatif lainnya.
Sebenarnya apaan sih gothic culture? Definisi tentang gothic culture itu masih sangat luas dan belum bisa didefinisikan, karena belum ada peneliti yang benar-benar niat buat jadiin ini sebagai salah satu ilmu. Intinya sich begini, itu semua terserah masing-masing individu pengen ngartiin gothic bagaimana bentuknya. Sebenarnya para gothess (pecinta gothic) itu ngga se-gelap yang lu kira, para gothess sebenarnya adalah orang yang anti-kekerasan, damai dan toleran. Para gothess banyak yang menulis kalau mereka mengalami depresi, desperate, keluarga yang disfungsional, masa kecil yang kelam, marah, kecewa, sedih dan benci. Percaya atau tidak, semuanya ini ditulis di dalam 640 web yang ada di dalam gothic web ring, dan isinya rata-rata sama. Kebanyakan gothess memang menyukai main game-game RPG (role-playing game), bukannya karena cupu atau memiliki fantasi yang berlebihan, tetapi dikarenakan adanya tantangan kreatif dan mengasah otak di dalamnya.
Kenapa akhir-akhir ini gothic selalu dikaitkan dengan agama dan kepercayaan? Hal itu dikarenakan salah satu artis yang selalu berdandan gothic yang dikenal dengan nama Marilyn Manson diangkat menjadi pendeta di gereja setan, oleh Anton Lavey. Awalnya sih sepihak, tapi lu pada tau khan gimana akhirnya. Ngga semua gothess pengikut gereja setan. Banyak gothess yang masih memegang kristianitas mereka, atheisme, agnoticism, new age, gnosticism, shamanisme, wicca, tradisi neopagan, dan kepercayaan-kepercayaan minoritas lainnya.
Nah, kalo pada musik mungkin sudah pada tau semua bahwa gothic erat dengan nada-nada yang cukup mendayu (tapi nggak mellow) dengan lirik yang penuh dengan depresi, gloomy, kesedihan, kekecewaan, kebencian, atapun pemberontakan dan perlawanan yang tidak tercapai dan terhenti ditengah jalan. Kalo dilihat dari sejarahnya, gothic jelas sekali lahir dan berkembang di daratan Eropa. Band-band yang beraliran gothic pun juga tumbuh dan berkembang subur di daratan Eropa, sebut saja Within Temptation, Xandria, Theatre of Tragedy, dan lain sebagainya berasal dari Eropa. So, salah besar kalo ada yang bilang Evanescence adalah pelopor band gothic (Evanescence kan baru, lagian asalnya aja dari Amrik, trus komersil boanget lagi. Kayanya nggak ada dech kultur mereka yang bersinggungan dengan gothic…). Musik-musik goth sendiri, oleh media selalu dikaitkan dengan topik-topik yang memprovokasi, serba satanisme, rasial, perang, dan kebencian terhadap golongan tertentu.
Padahal gak sebegitunya. Referensi musik bagi yang tertarik dengan goth-music : NIN, a Perfect Circle, Tweaker, Professional Murder Circle, Cradle of Filth, HIM (His Infernal Majesty), Sopor Aeternus, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and The Banshees, the Sisters of Mercy, Dead Can Dance, Moi dix Mois, Malice Mizer, Blood, Earl Grey, Madeth Gray’ll, Kana, Amadeus, Mirage, Merry Go Around dan masih banyak lagi. Coba liat EPICA deh… kan keren Abis!
Pada awalnya musik gothic itu berasal dari nama suku bangsa yang merupakan kakek moyang dari bangsa Jerman. lalu musik gothic tidak bisa disebut musik setan karena yang ditawarkan bukan kebencian. Gothic condong ke nuansa yang sedih tapi tidak gelap kayak black metal yang simbol pentagram, hexagran di pakai oleh band band black metal dan sebagian death metal.
Memang belum ada peneliti yang benar-benar detail memberikan arti kata Gothic itu sendiri tapi karena aliran musik metal luar biasa berkembang nya apalagi di era tahun 93 band gothic di eropa bagaikan bak jamur di musim hujan. Semoga dalam waktu dekat ada peneliti yang meneliti dengan seksama tentang Gothic mulai dari suku bangsa, arsitektur samapai ke musiknya.
Cradle of Filth dari london menganut aliran melodic black metal, memang musiknya ada yang cenderung ke nuansa Gothic seperti lagu Nymphetamine, dan Temptation. tapi jika anda penggmar musik underground seharusnya bisa membedakan antara Gothic, Black, death, thrash, sludge, power, doom,dan masih banyak yang lain nya yang mana tidak ada di indonesia seperti stoner metal dll.
Berbagai aliran gothic bisa di lihat jika anda sekalian tahu berbagai aliran musik gothic karena paling tidak ada beberapa aliran musik gothic: gothic classic : Epica dan Haggard, Nightwish , gothic black metal : the sins of thy beloved, theatre of Tragedy lalu gothic rock : after forever, within temptation dan masih banyak lagi, ada juga gothic murni, gothic choir dll.
Sebagai contoh lyric dari Mr David lagunya within temptation dari album the silent force 2004 yang judul nya “see who iam ” kebetulan gue punya albumnya, harus diakui memang ada band gothic yang memainkan nada yang sedih seperti lacrimosa, yang menceritakan penderitaan tapi ingat bahwa band yang memainkan lyric seperti itu biasanya band yang menganut aliran doom metal seperti MY Dying Bride.
Jadi gothic tidak cenderung ke arah satanic karena yang ke arah satanic adalah band band yang menganut aliran black metal : dimmu borgir, Windir, Satyricon, Christ Denied….etc.

It is fast approaching that unique portion of the year when all true matters arcane and diabolical are given the festive treatment, as Halloween prompts folks to deploy their broomsticks for something other than sweeping up after the household pet. Although we have recently seen cinematic quotas of the supernatural gobbled up by vampire and zombie flicks, it would be remiss to overlook the genuine chills instilled by the most successful exponents of the ghost movie genre. So here are ten of the scariest ghost movies to put the frighteners on us poor, trembling cinema-goers.

10. Dark Water (2002)

Leaky plumbing becomes an unlikely source of spine-tingling terror in this J-Horror offering from director Hideo Nakata, the man who had previously attached creepy connotations onto video cassettes and cold-calling in the first two Ringu films. Sharing some narrative ground with his earlier horror hits, Dark Water finds Nakata once again casting a supernatural child as his primary wellspring of unsettlement, as the spirit of Mitsuko (Mirei Oguchi) seeks some redress for her premature demise. The red of Mitsuko’s lost bag and the prevalence of water in the movie both establish a link to Nicholas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now, and the blend served up on this occasion by Nakata was beguiling enough to inspire Hollywood to deliver an unexceptional 2005 remake starring Jennifer Connolly.

9. The Fog (1980)

Gar! Me hearties! Spectral seadogs resurface to wreak vengeance upon the small coastal town of Antonio Bay, as Jamie Lee Curtis collaborates with director John Carpenter on a more expansive chiller than their earlier Halloween. The Fog sees Curtis cast alongside her mother, Janet Leigh, and although the shock ending of Carpenter’s movie is certainly not up to Psycho standard, the enveloping mist of the title provides an effectively eerie shroud under which the succession of revenge killings can be enacted. And, as ever with horror aficionado Carpenter, there some teasing little genre nods too – such as a twosome of characters turning up bearing tributary monikers to Robert Fuests’s Abominable Dr. Phibes and Great God Pan writer Arthur Machen.

8. The Devil’s Backbone (2001)

Better known for the bizarre, tactile mutant bodies that inhabited his Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy movies, The Devil’s Backbone saw Guillermo del Toro adopting a rather less-outré approach to the paranormal than that which we have come to expect from the fuzz-faced Mexican auteur. Death looms large over the film’s scenario, with the Spanish Civil War-era action taking place in an orphanage in which roams the restless spirit of deceased young resident Santi (Junio Valverde). A sense of unease stalks The Devil’s Backbone throughout, as the darkest facets of human behaviour overshadow Santi’s baleful haunting – although del Toro himself might have felt like he was the one coming back from the dead, as he fully grasped the opportunity to rebuild following the production difficulties and poor reception of Mimic.

7. Poltergeist (1982)

And we reach the first haunted house movie of the list. Tempted as I was to include The Legend of Hell House (which sees the astral presence of Michael Gough’s devilish Emeric Belasco spreading misery as an expression of the resentment he harboured about his titchy little legs), I decided to plump for this successful collaboration between writer-producer Steven Spielberg and director Tobe Hooper. The sense of wonder one has come to typically associate with The Beard’s output is given a darker tint here, with Carol Anne Freeling (Heather O’Rourke) being ripped away from her family and subsumed by the static of the television set. Meanwhile, Texas Chainsaw Massacre helmer Hooper keeps the schlock coming; as evinced by Martin Casella’s psychic researcher clawing his own face to shreds, and some slightly bathetic final revelations about a defiled burial ground.

6. The Haunting (1963)

Blimey, wait for one haunted house movie and then a pair of the blighters show up at once. What are the odds? Well, probably significantly better than finding someone who prefers the Jan de Bont-directed remake of The Haunting to the 1963 original. Coming as it did between his work on West Side Story and The Sound of Music, The HauntingCitizen Kane, delivering a disquieting thriller that is high on aesthetic quality and psychological sophistication. perhaps represents a slightly unlikely interjection in the production schedule of the period for its director Robert Wise. However Wise brings the kind of intelligence to proceedings that you might expect from the man who cut

5. The Sixth Sense (1999)

Imagine if you will, an antediluvian filmic era. Before The Happening. Before The Village. Before Signs. Welcome to the golden age of M. Night Shyamalan, when The Sixth SenseThe Sixth Sense attempted to establish a cogent relationship between the living and the deceased, without diluting the spiritual atmospherics. briefly transformed him into the hottest new film-maker in Hollywood and he could deliver a twist ending that had viewers choking on their pop corn in surprise, rather than weakly sobbing at the lameness of it all. Starting a trend for chiller flicks featuring kids delivering their dialogue in loud whispers (which persists to this day) and a trend for movies starring Haley Joel Osmant (which proved to be far, far, far-shorter lived),

4. Don’t Look Now (1973)

Ah, I have to confess to a bit of con-job on this one. Because, rather than sitting here resplendently in fourth place on my list, Don’t Look Now should face technical disqualification on the grounds that there aren’t actually any ghosts in it. But! The elliptical story related by Man Who Fell to Earth helmer Nicholas Roeg suggests that grieving John Baxter (Donald Sutherland) is being stalked round Venice by a red coat-clad phantom version of his dead daughter – consequently giving Don’t Look Now at least a partial ghost film credit. And there is no shortage of creepiness in the central scenario, which culminates with one of the most heart-stopping finales in cinema, when Baxter discovers that the ‘daughter’ he has repeatedly sighted is a ***spoiler***. Sounds laughable on paper, bloody terrifying and terrifyingly bloody in practice.

3. The Others (2001)

It may have been penned way back in 1897, but Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw still seems to exert a sizeable influence over the motion picture ghost story. The literary original was successfully adapted as The Innocents with Deborah Kerr in 1961, and James’ narrative components of a young woman inhabiting a strange gothic property, a perplexing set of events which appear to be supernatural in nature, and kids conversing with the spirit world were all adopted by director Alejandro Amenábar for his Nicole Kidman-starrer The Others. Privileging a nebulous sense of anxiety over blaring great shocks (although the bit where Kidman finds her daughter has been replaced by a knobbly pensioner is certainly a jolter), Amenábar’s movie even manages to find a sinister purpose for British comedy veteran Eric Sykes, as gardener Mr. Tuttle.

2. Ringu (1998)

A second entry in the list for director Hideo Nakata and the movie that ensured we would spend the opening years of the 21st century being deluged with J-Horror and J-Horror remakes alike. Despite the plethora of imitators, Ringu remains a genre benchmark though, boasting as it does a highly effective marriage of tight, surprising plotting and evocatively uncanny imagery. Around the conceit of being able to sign your own death warrant without even knowing it, Nakata weaves a race-against-time dilemma and downbeat denouement, while Rie Inou’s herky-jerky moving Sadako instantly establishes herself of one of the most identifiable characters in modern horror cinema.

1. The Shining (1980)

Much of Stanley Kubrick’s take on The Shining has undeniably become the stuff of all-too frequent parody; the Diane Arbus-inspired twin girls, the elevator of blood, the revelation of ‘REDRUM’ in the mirror, and Jack Nicholson’s manic cry of “Heeeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!”. However The Shining delivers so many moments of oddness that it still never fails to unsettle (the briefly-glimpsed guy in the bear costume and Joe Turkel’s sallow-faced bartender always succeed in putting a cold breeze up my flagpole). Kubrick’s Steadicam relentlessly glides the corridors of Overlook Hotel, trailing little telepathic Danny (Danny Lloyd) trundling round on his tricycle, searching out the spiritual malevolence that finally sends Jack Torrance’s booze-fuelled caretaker over the edge, and gives Nicholson opportunity to cut loose. Ayam : Gwe benci banget sama manusia.
Sapi : Lah, mang lo napa..yam??
Ayam : masa gww baru makan beras dikit aja, langsung diusir, sampe di lempar-lempar batu segala. Padahal mereka ampir tiap ari makan telur dan daging gwe. Sebel!!! benci bngt gwe sama yang namanya manusia.
Sapi : Emang lo doang yang benci???? Gwe lebih benci mereka dari siapapun!
Ayam : Emang lo kenapa.. pi?
Sapi : Coba elo bayangin, ampir tiap ari susu gue di elus-elus, dipencet-pencet, diremas-remas, tapi manusia durjana itu ga pernah nikahin gwe, boro-boro ngelamar... Sakiiiittt banget batin gwe , emangnya gw jab1ay.!!!!!

Tukang Becak dan Kuntilanak

Malam yang dingin. Seorang tukang becak menyun karena gak dapat penumpang dari sore. Akhirnya si tukang becak memutuskan untuk pulang.  Dalam perjalanan pulang, tiba-tiba muncul seorang wanita berambut panjang memanggilnya. "Wah, penumpang nih," pikir si tukang becak. Akhirnya wanita itu naik.

Tukang becak: "Mau kemana, dik?"
"Jalan aja pak, nanti saya beritau" jawab wanita itu datar.
Ketika sampai di dekat kuburan, Tiba-tiba menyuruh becak berhenti. “Stop, bang...”,katanya.

Pada saat si wanita turun, tukang becak melihat ternyata kaki wanita berambut panjang itu tidak menyentuh tanah. Serta merta si tukang becak berkata sambil mengigil : "Hiiii....Kuntilanakkkkkkkkk......"

Dengan spontan wanita itu melirik sinis ke arah si tukang becak : "Biarin…daripada lu, tukang becak!"

Robot Detektor Kebohongan
Maman adalah seorang genius, profesor pintar yang berhasil menciptakan sebuah robot canggih, yang memiliki kemampuan mendeteksi kebohongan apapun yang dikatakan oleh manusia. Si Robot akan menampar siapapun yang mengucapkan kebohongan. Dengan bangga, Maman membawa robot itu kerumah untuk dipamerkan pada anak dan istrinya.  Maman menunggu anaknya pulang untuk memperlihatkan hasil karyanya yang tercanggih itu.

Tetapi, anaknya tak kunjung pulang. Setelah sekian lama, baru sore hari lah si anak pulang.

"Asep, kamu dari mana? kok jam segini baru pulang” tanya si Maman
"Ada pelajaran tambahan pap" jawab Asep, sang anak.

*PLAK!!!* Sang Robot menampar si anak dengan keras.

"Asep, ini adalah robot ciptaan papap, dia akan menampar siapapun yang berbohong! Sekarang katakan dengan jujur, kenapa kamu pulang telat ??!"
"Maaf pap.... aku habis menonton film di rumah teman"

"Film apa?"
"Film Komedi pap"

*PLAK!!!*

"Ayo katakan dengan jujur film apa ??"
“Maaf pap… saya menonton film porno", jawab Asep sang anak sambil menunduk.

Mendengar jawaban Asep, Maman seketika marah. Matanya melotot. Sambil menunjuk-nunjuk, Maman berkata :
"Kamu ini yah... Kecil-kecil udah punya kelakuan kayak gitu? Kalo besar itu kamu mau jadi apa???! Kurang ajar kamu ya… bikin malu papap ajah."
"Perbuatan yang benar-benar memalukan!!! papap waktu seumuran kamu gak pernah senakal kamu tau !!!"

*PLAK* Maman sang profesor di tampar keras oleh si Robot.

Seketika, suasana rumah hening beberapa saat.

Istri Maman, yang sedari tadi mendengarkan kejadian tersebut keluar kamar dan langsung berkata : "Abang ini gimana sih??? Sama saja kelakuannya kayak anaknya! Buah Apel gak pernah jatuh jauh dari pohonnya kan? Inget Bang, bagaimanapun, Asep itu anak Abang, jadi...."

*PLAK* Si robot menampar istri Maman sebelum dia sempat menyelesaikan kata-katanya

Dan, seketika suasana rumah hening.... heninggggggggggg begitu lama.

Anak Nakal dan Nenek
Suatu pagi, seorang anak lelaki kecil keluar dari kamarnya dan bertanya pada neneknya,
"Nek, mana Papa dan Mama?"
"Mereka masih di dalam kamar cu.", jawab neneknya.
Anak itu tertawa, kemudian sarapan sendirian lalu pergi bermain.
Ketika pulang, hari sudah siang. Si anak lelaki itu bertanya lagi pada neneknya,
"Nek, di mana Papa dan Mama ?"
"Mereka masih di dalam kamar cu.", jawab singkat neneknya.
Anak itu tertawa geli, lalu menghabiskan makan siangnya dan pergi bermain lagi.
Malam harinya si anak baru pulang untuk makan malam. Sebelum makan si anak itu bertanya lagi pada neneknya.
"Nek, mana Papa dan Mama ?"
"Dari tadi pagi mereka masih dikamar, cu", kembali neneknya menjawab.
Anak itu kembali tertawa geli.
"Kenapa sih kamu ketawa-ketawa?", tanya neneknya keheranan.
Si anak menjawab :
"Semalam kan papa masuk kamarku, minta gel pelembab kulit, tapi saya kasih lem super glue..."

Evanescence Rilis Album Terbaru Oktober

Liputan6.com, Los Angeles: Lama tak terdengar namanya, grup band rock Evanescence akhirnya muncul dengan membawa kabar baik yang cukup membuat para penggemarnya tak sabar menanti. Rencananya, band pelantun "Bring Me To Life" itu akan merilis album ketiganya Oktober mendatang setelah lima tahun vakum.

Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan Billboard, sang pentolan sekaligus anggota wanita satu-satunya Amy Lee membeberkan rencana perilisan album terbarunya. Amy menegaskan, album ketiganya akan dirilis 3 Oktober. Kini, mereka masih menyelesaikan tahap akhir rekaman di studio mereka di Nashville, AS.

Kabar tersebut juga sudah dikonfirmasi oleh pihak label, Wind-up Records. Namun, judul album terbaru Evanescence ini masih dirahasiakan sampai mereka menggelar konferensi pers resmi. Di album terbarunya ini, Amy akan bekerja sama dengan Nick Raskulinecz dari Foo Fighters dan Velvet Revolver.

Tak hanya itu, anggota Evanescence lainnya termasuk Will Hunt (drummer), Terry Balsamo (gitaris) dan Tim McCord (basist) juga sudah bergabung dalam penulisan lagu. Album terbarunya ini akan menyusul kesuksesan album multiplatinum sebelumnya 'The Open Door' yang dirilis 2006 silam dan terjual lebih dari 6 juta kopi. (MTVNews/JAY/Vin)
